Tau sar peah is a famous and frequently consumed pastry in Penang. Apparently they call it “Chinese mung bean pastry” or “bean paste pastry”.
I tried the black-skinned tau sar peah and it was durian flavoured. The durian flavour was very strong. So strong that even when I go to the ladies (meaning washroom, not like I’m going to go to any ladies) to do my Number 1 (meaning to go and pee), the smell of durian comes out. So for durian lovers, you will love this.
