Father’s Day 2017

This is what happened last week and weekend, which was Father’s Day on that Sunday.

On Friday, my Mummy cooked a scrumptious dinner of pork ribs stew with carrots, pineapple and potato in the dish. She also made tomyum soup.

My sister bought the tomyum soup base and ingredients from AEON supermarket. They have a selection of pre-packed packages of raw ingredients for different types of soups so you do not need to source for each of the ingredients on your own.

I gave my Daddy his Father’s Day present(s). The blue rose is fit to be received by a man. Who says men cannot receive flowers.

The cashier at Carings gave me this recyclable red bag when I bought Blackmore vitamins.

The next day, which was a Saturday, our family  went shopping and had lunch at Queensbay Mall. I had fish head bihun in spicy and sour soup. They call it fish head bihun (‘bihun‘ means rice noodles) in Penang, Malaysia but this dish is usually served with fish fillets which comes with the option of fried fish fillets or non-fried fish fillets. I ordered non-fried fish fillets for mine and I requested for the soup to be less spicy. They made it mildly spicy, which is to my liking. I love it when chefs and food places can cater to special requests.

That night for dinner, my Mummy made pan-seared salmon with side dishes of herb-infused spaghetti and mixed vegetables. When asked by my sister what was the occassion, she jokingly said to celebrate Father’s Day… again. Non-stop celebration for Father’s Day, it seems.

Then my Daddy opened his bottle of Japanese Umeshu. It is a type of liquer made from the ume fruit and it is also known as Japanese plum wine. This bottle has 15% of alcohol in it. It tasted very sweet and has a very slight sourish taste.

For this year’s Father’s Day celebration, we also had a cake which the cake cutting ceremony was held earler in the month, in conjunction with my father’s and sister’s birthday. Really non-stop celebration for Father’s Day.

That’s what we did for Father’s Day this year and the celebrations took place before the actual day on Sunday (18 June 2017). Do check out this blog post with a video on Father’s Day : https://myleenterprise.com/happy-fathers-day/
